Why Diamond Engagement Rings

The diamond engagement ring supersedes all diamond jewellery. Why you might ask? The answer is simple; the diamond engagement ring is a symbol of two peoples love and committee to each other. Once that gorgeous ring is placed upon her finger, the world knows that she is a taken woman, and many people cannot take their eyes off that rock her hand is resting under. However imagine what would it be like if the diamond engagement ring was not the symbol of being engaged. It is hard to imagine that anything can take its place. However diamonds are beautiful, valuable and extremely precious so really it shouldnt matter if the symbol is not a ring, as long as it contains that precious element of the almighty diamond.

Imagine that instead of the diamond engagement ring in todays society when a man proposes to a woman he hands her a beautiful diamond bracelet to be worn on her left hand. It is round like the ring, and a lot more diamonds can be placed on a bracelet than a ring. Although it just does not have the same look as the engagement ring.

Lets try a pair of diamond stud earrings. They, like rings come in all shapes and sizes, and bonus you get two diamonds, one for each ear. The earrings do not even need to be diamond studs they can be chandelier earrings or stunning drop earrings. However like the sound of the engagement bracelet, the engagement diamond earrings do not have the same ring to it.

What about the diamond pendant. A lot of women do not like wearing their engagement ring on their finger so they place it on a chain and wear it around their neck. So maybe instead of the diamond engagement ring it can be the diamond pendant. There are so many to choose from, they can be unique and still the world can see them being worn. Imagine if all those centuries ago when the thought of the engagement ring if they only thought of the diamond pendant, or the diamond bracelet, or diamond earrings.

For some reason everyone seems content with the idea of the diamond engagement ring. Although are we really content with the idea of the ring or the idea of the diamond? When people go shopping for diamond engagement rings are they looking at the diamonds or the gold or platinum surrounding the diamonds or both? Bottom line is diamonds are beautiful so should we really care if we get a diamond necklace as opposed to the diamond ring? After all diamonds are a girls best friend therefore I believe we should have both.
